Walsh to Wear Protective Headgear for Broncos Return
Broncos fullback Reece Walsh will make an early return from injury in this weekend's Brisbane derby against the Bulldogs, wearing special protective headgear.
The 21-year-old suffered a head knock in the Broncos' Round 9 loss to the Titans and has been sidelined since.
Walsh has been cleared to return to play but will wear the headgear as a precaution. He will be closely monitored by the Broncos' medical staff throughout the game.
"Reece is a tough kid and he's keen to get back on the field," Broncos coach Kevin Walters said.
"We've taken all the necessary precautions and we're confident he'll be able to play safely."
Walsh's return is a boost for the Broncos, who have been struggling for form in recent weeks. They have lost their last three games and are currently sitting in 13th place on the NRL ladder.
The Broncos will be hoping that Walsh's return can help them turn their season around. They will be looking to get back to their winning ways when they face the Bulldogs at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.
