Crawford Wins WBA Junior Middleweight Title!

Crawford Defeats Madrimov

Main Card Underway

Terence Crawford has defeated Israil Madrimov to claim the WBA junior middleweight title in Los Angeles on Saturday night. The fight was the main event of a card that also featured Isaac Cruz and Madrimov in the co-main event. Crawford, who began his pro career in 2009 at super lightweight, is now the champion in a third different weight class.

The main event fighters made their way to the ring around 11 pm. Crawford controlled the fight from the outset, using his superior boxing skills to outclass Madrimov. He dropped Madrimov in the second round and again in the ninth round, before finally stopping him in the tenth round. The victory marks Crawford's first title defense since winning the WBO welterweight title in August 2018.

In the co-main event, Isaac Cruz defeated Madrimov in a back-and-forth battle. Cruz knocked down Madrimov in the second round, but Madrimov rallied back to win the fourth and fifth rounds. Cruz regained control of the fight in the sixth round, however, and he went on to win a unanimous decision.

The card also featured several other notable fights. In the opening bout of the main card, Alexis Rocha defeated Blair Cobbs in a welterweight bout. In the second bout of the main card, Edgar Berlanga defeated Marcelo Esteban Coceres in a super middleweight bout. And in the third bout of the main card, Janibek Alimkhanuly defeated Danny Dignum in a middleweight bout.
