Powerful Tornadoes Cause Major Damage in Multiple Iowa Towns

GREENFIELD, Iowa (AP) - Five people were killed and at least 35 injured as powerful tornadoes ripped through Iowa on Saturday. The deadly tornado in Greenfield, which was on the ground for over 40 miles, left a wide path of obliterated homes, splintered trees, and crumpled cars. According to officials, the storm was an EF-4 tornado with winds reaching up to 190 miles per hour.

The tornado outbreak, which also affected several other towns in Iowa, caused major damage and left thousands without power. The town of Minden was particularly hard-hit, with numerous homes and businesses destroyed. Residents are now facing the daunting task of cleaning up and rebuilding their community.

The National Weather Service is continuing to assess the damage and is expected to provide further updates on the tornadoes in the coming days. As of now, officials are urging residents to stay alert and be prepared for more severe weather as the storm system moves eastward.
