Bayern Munich Reach Champions League Semis with Victory Over Arsenal
Trossard's Late Goal Earns Arsenal Draw in First Leg
Kimmich's Strike Secures Bayern's Progression
Bayern Munich have reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League after a nail-biting victory over Arsenal. Joshua Kimmich scored the only goal in the second leg, securing a 1-0 win on aggregate.
In the first leg at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners had taken a surprise lead through Bukayo Saka's early goal. However, Harry Kane's penalty and a late strike from Leandro Trossard gave the hosts a 2-2 draw.
Bayern Munich started the second leg strongly, but they were unable to break down a resolute Arsenal defense. The visitors had their chances, with Saka and Eddie Nketiah both going close.
However, it was Bayern Munich who eventually found the breakthrough. In the 77th minute, Kimmich curled a sumptuous shot into the top corner from the edge of the area.
The goal sparked wild celebrations from the Bayern players and fans. Arsenal tried to respond, but they were unable to create any clear-cut chances in the dying minutes.
Bayern Munich will now face Real Madrid in the semi-finals. The first leg will be played in Munich on April 25, with the return leg in Madrid on May 2.
